We made our way to Monkstown to attend a small but well supported parade.
Good weather compared to last year when bad weather nearly ruined the night.
Around 12 bands attended tonight. Ourselves, Newtownards Volunteer flute, South
Belfast Young Conquerors, POTH Carnmoney, COB Fifes and Drums, Lambeg Orange and Blue,
William Savage Memorial, Ballyclare Protestant fb and the Newtownabbey True Blues attended. It was
also great to see Liverpool being represented at the parade tonight.
Tonight we were awarded:
3 memorial shields.
The route of the parade is a short one as it made its way around the Monkstown estate. Good crowds out tonight
which makes a change. South Belfast Young Conquerors going well passing me and the Newtownards Volunteer flute out in
good numbers. This parade is normally the night before the Brian Robinson parade. Not once over the years we have attended have
i seen a drunk spectator and it really does set the tone for the memorial parade.
Well done Monkstown YCV and the Liverpool Volunteers
