The band made the trip to Rathfriland on a night that had good weather, sticky and warm
but good none the less.
The square was packed with crowds and the noise was unreal. Bands coming from all
directions.
Forgetting about the bands for one minute, it also had one of the biggest ever burger
vans ive seen at a parade. The police had a huge presence tonight, i dont know why as
trouble at this parade is non-existant.
Big turnout of bands on show, Gertrude Star going well as were Kilcluney Volunteers
when passing me in the carpark at the start of the route. I also seen Markethill
Protestant Boys in new suits, looking the part. Clogher Protestant Boys, Pride of
the Shore, LSO Benagh all going well. Most bands are now taking alot more interest
in their style and appearance which is a good thing.
Our own band paraded with 7 of a colour party, 15 drummers, 3 bass drummers, 32 flautists
and marshalls. A bigger colour party than normal looking the part. We played well
in my opinion. The new tunes we have worked on are nearly the norm for us.
Bass drummers giving it stacks and by our standards put on a good display.
In my humble opinion, we took the Hill!
Below are a selection of photographs of the band in action.
