I can hardly believe this parade has come round again so quickly. It has always been seen as the end of the Marching season.
Huge crowds lined the route of the town from early on, supporters travel from far and wide to attend. For years it has been big in many ways. Big bands, big crowds with a big image which is a great end to the season. It rained at times which failed to dampen spirits as the night went on. From early on the bands were on the move.
The parade goes down both sides of the main street with huge crowds around the cut or tunnel where bands always try to impress. The noise level is huge all night and at times the crowds are to close to bands. Pride of the Hill Rathfriland big tonight as were the Kilcluney Volunteers. I keep saying it, if you cant perform at this parade then you cant do it anywhere. Its just one of the nights where it all becomes worthwhile after a long season. 82 bands on show tonight which is a brilliant turnout for the hosts. All bands and bandsmen/women once again helped to make the parade one of the best this year.
Below is a selection of photographs of the band in action.
