The band made the short trip across the city to take part as we do every year in the hosts parade.
The good weather held all day and we looked forward to getting out to support the SOU, a well respected band on the Shankill Road.
We were one of the first bands to parade, it was a welcome change for us and it gave us a chance to see alot of the parade. The route
of the parade was short and the usual blow out section always gets a reaction with bands going hammer and tong to out do each other in
a usually friendly manner. The Whitewell Defenders did well going past us as did all the bands in the passing part which always gets the crowds
going. Pride of the Hill Rathfriland were in good tune when i seen them as was the Gertrude star and the Shankill star whom led the parade.
The parade was well under way quickly with more bands turning up from another parade held in Lurgan on the same night. Bands such as the
Kilclunney Volunteers, South Belfast Young Conquerors, Tamlaghtmore Tigers, Pride of the Rock, Clogher Protestant Boys, Pride of the Shore,
Armagh True Blues and the vastley improved Downshire Guiding Star going well. The Ulster Grenadiers looked sharp in their new uniform which i think
suits them more.
Below are a selection of photographs of the band in action.
